2015 Year in Review
I perform a yearly post mortem to review the highs and lows of the past twelve months. I call this my “yearly review.” You can read 2014′s review here, and see all my reviews here.
2015 was a really, really big year. Let’s begin.
January
Kicked off the new year with @alphabeef and @brandedbulltank at MASS.
The first four weeks of my #52weeksofkink project went really well, explored public sex, hypnosis, furries, and role reversal. Switching proved to be more difficult than expected, but ended up having a really nice time with pup aphyr in a dungeon.
My Brazilian visa is approved! Just in time for big pup’s surprise trip.
Had our first walk-through of Ruby Skye, the venue for our wedding.
February
#52weeksofkink: rubber, prostate milking, swimsuits, and almost did leather, but my jacket was still being built.
Celebrated @brandedbulltank‘s 25th birthday with a visit to the Keith Herring exhibit, followed by an 8-hour hike…but my bike ended up being closer to 24-hours.
Surprised big pup for his 30th birthday with a trip to Brazil, where we were dancers in the Rio Carnival parade. Amazing beaches, circuit parties, and a wonderful hike through a nearby rainforest. Awesome.

March
I removed lil pup’s collar and we reconciled our relationship to being “just friends.” The following week I took him to Yosemite for his birthday.
Meanwhile, big pup and I went to city hall to pick up our marriage license. Celebrated with a weekend trip to a hot springs resort up north.
#52weeksofkink: uniforms, my leather jacket is finally done.
Pup aphyr is spending more time with us, had a nice dinner at his place. After my failure with lil pup I doubt my capacity to train another submissive.
April
@knottybrent designs the rope harness for our groomsmen.
Pre-wedding Dim Sum with our guests, followed that evening with our reception dinner.
Oh boy. It’s the big day. We threw a Circuit Party themed wedding called CONSUMMATE to celebrate our love. Sister Roma of the Sister of Perpetual Indulgence married us before our closest friends and family, DJ Kitty Glitter and Dave Aude headlined. My parents loved it. After the wedding, we went back to the hotel for cuddles and some light power exchange.
Tank signs a life contract (no expiration) in service to me on his three-year anniversary of service. Alpha gets pushed into subspace at the gym, pre’s through his shorts. And we watch RuPaul together as a family.
Day trip to Guernville with my pups and pup aphyr. I (poorly) decided this was a good time to tell him I couldn’t be his Dom. He was very upset with me. I am sad that friendship is not possible.
Big pup arranged a wonderful surprise birthday party, then took me to a fish dock to buy crab, and ended the day at a bartending class. @innerbear thoughtfully sent me flowers. Alpha had Texas barbecue overnighted for a special dinner, then took me to one of SF’s fanciest steak houses.
May
My birthday spills over into the following weekend, where tank takes me on a colour fight in Golden Gate park. He packed a lovely picnic and we even got to go flagging. Perfect.
Watched Avengers (and 50 Shades of Gray).
Big pup’s best man, and a close friend of mine, James passes away. He was very sick leading up to the actual wedding and was not able to be present for the ceremony, just the witnessing of our marriage license. We miss you, James. Thank you for introducing me to big pup.
Alpha takes me on a tour of the Armory. I get a little crazy with food and design Creole and British menus (plus a leather theme menu), which my pups loved.
Surprised to learn my bodyfat percentage is only 20%.
Gunner pup visits, so we took him hiking. I took my #callmebeefy photo meme during the hike.
Oh, and we got a puppy. His name is Thor. Half pitbull, half husky.
June
Took tank for a very San Francisco high tea, gifting him the first of many tattoos.
In an attempt to restart my stalled #52weeksofkink project, I explore humiliation play, and discover a new fetish of mine: big dick humiliation. Also tried switching again (more successful), and rope bondage.
The past six months, @bigxbad and I had been conspiring to throw a surprise wedding for him and @akbearcub at EDC Vegas. Once we arrived, I had the incredible privilege of being his best man and witness. EDC was incredible, with some of the most wonderful people in my life. Sigh :)
The supreme court rules for marriage equality (HURRAY) leading to an epic Pride celebration. My pups endured an 8+ hour hike while I played spirit guide.
July
People on tumblr are shoving 12oz redbull cans into their mouths to simulate my penis. Never stop being you, tumblr.
Alpha earns my brand, which is basically an engagement.
I launch my “tumblr originals” tool to hide reblogs.
Took tank to another tea house, this time Chinese, and had a nice photoshoot nearby. Then for alpha’s birthday, I attempted cooking texas style barbecue. Big pup got a Japanese candy and manga gift box for our date night, which inspired some fun cooking.
Met a wonderful reader who makes documentaries. So touched he enjoyed my silly blog for so long. Also had a wonderful dinner with pup Jared…he’s such a sweetheart.
July means flagging season has begun, Dore Alley, and PLAY.
August
Day trip to the Russian River. We wanted to do Lazy Bear, but we had a dog that wasn’t allowed :(
Rented a dungeon for tank and alpha for one last scene before our honeymoon, then mole chicken duck fat fried tacos.
First stop on the honeymoon? Paris. Then Rome, a gay cruise through the Mediterranean, and ended in Istanbul. My liver doesn’t do so well on this trip.
September
Got home and took tank on a treacherous hike to San Francisco’s famous nude beach. Afterwards, we played host with tank’s family visiting from Australia.
Then a long weekend in Austin with my alpha pup. The food was amazing. Made new friend@gpenske, Mike, and Steve.
My liver is…recovering. Slowly. It’s okay, I discovered sock garters, orc teeth, and that I love thongs.
Innerbear arrives first, presents with tank, then Tony and Arman! Folsom was awesome. Started with the sunset cruise, bearricuda, the Big Muscle Bears party, the Folsom Fair, and ended with Real Bad.
Innerbear and I decide to experiment with reconnecting again after a very emotional Folsom.
October
Unsurprisingly, I caught a cold during Folsom. Still powered through the Castro Street Fair, pumpkin hustling, and harvesting honey at dad’s farm.
A little late, considering Folsom was last month, but alpha and I got matching harnesses…and matching restraints. Then alpha went into chastity.
I accepted a dream job offer and quit my big corp job. With just three weeks between gigs, I decided to visit @innerbear in Hawaii.
He ended up leaving in the middle of my stay for a funeral (sorry beef), so I took a weekend trip to Kauai. Visited Secret beach (where my dad proposed to my mom), second thing, and hiked the Na’pali coast to Hanakapiai falls. When I returned, we had a hike of our own, saw Oahu’s nude beach, I went surfing, cooked an island dinner, and took him to Orchids.
Came home, lei’d my pups, and went to DJ Kitty Glitter’s halloween party.
November
Started my new job, which means stuffy business clothes everyday.
Had a fantastic dinner with John and Jacob, two delightful readers. Thank you.
Knife skills class with big pup, fondue with my pups, Rocky Horror, celebrating tank’s new job, oysters up north, and more switch attempts with Alpha/Sir. Sent @innerbear a little pack of photos from our trip to try and cheer him up.
Oh! I got a vein! That means cutting is going well!
I decided I wanted a modernist Thanksgiving, so I bought a sous vide machine. Much cooking experiments followed. Actual Thanksgiving dinner was a huge success. My dad was so welcoming of my pups, I’m very happy.
December
This is a good month for cooking. Rack of lamb, cream brulee, seafood curry while @hamulousayden visits, tank’s delicious rump, sous vide brisket, big pup took me to Manresa, I made latkes, prime rib, and took tank for all-you-can-eat sushi. Phew.
I had a terrifying root canal.
Sir took me to a class on switching, I sent innerbear a Christmas carepackage, tank surprised me with lovely gestures of affection, and big pup took us to see Courtney Act.
I’m currently in Mexico with big pup, possibly happy with my body.
Summary
Wow. 2015 was a really big year. Didn’t travel as much or finish as many personal projects as previous years, but with good reason: I planned our wedding, got married, and went on a fabulous honeymoon with big pup. That was this years “big” project.
This was a year of relationships. I removed lil pup’s collar, tank signed a life contract, I started switching with alpha, hurt a very wonderful pup, and now Phil and I are running a romance experiment.
Speaking of relationships, friends were in full force this year. I was so overwhelmed that every single important person in my life showed up to my wedding. Friends from around the world converged to join and celebrate our love. It was amazing. A few months after that, I got to return the favour for @bigxbad and @akbearcub‘s wedding at EDC.
How did I do on my 2015 Resolutions?
- Continue to grow meaningful relationships with friends.
Yes! Doing great here. Made some new friends, trying to maintain strong relationships with existing friends…good times.- Travel three times out of the country
Uh! Well. Kinda? I went to Mexico, and on our honeymoon I visited, like, 12 countries. But that was all one trip. I also went to Hawaii, but that’s technically America.- Three more web projects
Tumblr originals tool, new tumblr theme, data viz of posting patterns
Technically, I did three personal projects. These are pretty simple though, I should push for more complex.- Explore my sexuality, grow as a Dom, improve my relationship with my pups.
I was unable to finish my #52weeksofkink project, but I feel my relationship with my pups is improving. Could’ve done more though :/My 2016 Resolutions
- Three “complex” web projects. (Can’t get away with simple one-pagers anymore).
- Travel three times out of the country. (Already booked: Australia and Spain, just need one more).
- Continue to work on my relationships, grow as a Dom, learn to switch easier.
- New Calendar project. (You’ve already started taking pics, time to put the pre-order page up, come on, me).
