I use tags to organize my posts to help navigate my huge blog (over 6,000 posts in 15 years).
Posts tagged as vanity were originally just my self portraits. Taking a photo of yourself is an exercise of self admiration, so I used the word vanity because it felt more honest than “self portrait.” (Selfie wasn’t a word at the time).
As I’ve started exploring other photo projects, I began using the vanity tag for anything that involved me. It would be more accurate to tag these posts as “photos of me,” but I’m too lazy to change everything.
